Providing Leadership, Delivering Success
Teterboro Fixed Base Operator
Location Teterboro International Airport, Teterboro, New Jersey
Owner Signature Flight Support
In October of 2003 Kraus-Manning, Inc. was retained by Signature Flight Support to take over the program management of a troubled terminal project already under construction and a hangar project in the throes of completing design and sublease provisions at Teterboro Airport. Since then Kraus-Manning has provided program management oversight for the development of three additional hangars and office facilities as well as a 100,000 square yardage infield paving project. Final build-out has encompassed over 125,000 square feet of hangar space, 40,000 square feet of office space with associated ramps, aprons, and site development. These projects were managed using various delivery methods such as design/bid/build and design/build.

“Teterboro’s Airport legacy is that it is one of the oldest and busiest operating airports located in Northern New Jersey overlooking the New York City skyline. The existing Signature Flight Support terminal located on the West side of the base overlooked the World Trade Center and downtown NY. In 2001 a new terminal, three new hangers with office space and runway infrastructure work was scheduled to commence construction on September 11, 2001. The horrific events of 911 put the aviation industry in a standstill and everyone felt this development was doomed from the start. A few years later the dust had settled and expansion project started once again. The entire project came to a successful finish in 2008 and a huge pat on the back should be given to all the dedicated and committed people involved for a job well done.” – Heidi Nelson, Kraus-Manning Project Manager
