KMI took over the construction management of this project in August 2008 for a local celebrity chef and his wife. This unusual building is designed to showcase cooking lessons with the back drop of a remote Caribbean island land and its seascape. The building takes on the appearance of a traditional African abode on a grand scale and incorporates tropical hardwoods, artificial thatch roofing and is naturally ventilated. There is no glass or windows in the design and it is anticipated that KMI will project manage the next phase of construction in late 2009 which includes the construction of several prefabricated tropical dwellings. |
